Goals

• Establish contacts between wood research institutions, timber engineers and companies of the forestry-wood chain.
• Recognize needs and problems in the utilization of wood in the timber industries; forwarding to research institutes and support of solution finding.
• Encouragement of national and international cooperation in wood research and transfer of results and knowledge to business via annual conventions for timber builders and engineers.
• Editing of the Swiss Wood Research bulletin which is a compilation of summary reports to actual topics in wood science and technology, briefly and concisely presented.
• Organization of an annual seminar for wood scientists & technologists and interested members aiming to present and discuss the state and status of current research projects, progress in R&D and trends in research.
